By pairing chemical and mechanical lysis techniques and Inhibitor Removal Technology (IRT), the DNeasy PowerBiofilm Kit overcomes inefficient cell lysis in the most challenging biofilms. IRT removes concentrated inhibitors such as humic acid, metals, salts and pesticides, typically present in biofilms resulting in increased yields of inhibitor-free DNA from all types of biofilms, including microbial mats. Purification of DNA using the DNeasy PowerBiofilm Kit can be automated on the QIAcube Connect.
